Milden Hall

Large group farm stay accommodation & peaceful, happy gatherings in rural Suffolk

Milden Hall is a glorious, unspoilt and much-loved 500-acre family farm that has been in the Hawkins family for seven generations, spanning over 200 years. We offer two completely separate large group farm stay self-catering accommodation options each sleeping 22+ guests - and overflow accommodation in our Hall farmhouse. Both the Tudor barn and Old Brooder are off the beaten track down our quiet Suffolk farm drive but easily accessible from London, the North and the West. The properties are peacefully surrounded by ancient wildflower meadows, hedged countryside, beautiful listed hall farmhouse, aisled barns and cartlodges.

At Milden friends, walkers, cyclists, civilised hens, school groups or re-enactors can get together in spacious, beautiful, ancient and unspoiled surroundings, amidst our sensitively farmed landscape. Here, you can walk, run, hug trees, pond dip, read, lie about, play tennis, bike, draw, paint, sing, eat and be merry in 21st century style – and if you’d like to, dip one foot into the 16th century.

The Tudor Barn

Our huge, magnificent 16th century barn with adjoining cartlodge sleeps up to 24+ in a one-group booking in four bedrooms plus the huge open plan barn with Tudor style four-posters, truckle beds …. Despite the Tudor atmosphere and surroundings, rest assured, the barn has plenty of modern conveniences and comfort but a sense of adventure is essential! It also seats up to 80 for Tudor banquets, very occasional wedding receptions and other celebrations.

The Old Brooder

Our quirky, comfortable and very cosy, modern bunkhouse, together with a Victorian shepherd's hut, sleeps up to 22 as a one-group booking in five bedrooms. For a large group on a modest budget, the Old Brooder is a wonderful property for getting together to cook and eat together in the kitchen, and relax together in the upstairs sitting room. Beds are a mix of conventional and joiner-made (and super-comfy) oak bunk-beds.
