Milden Hall offers homely bed and breakfast accommodation in the Hall farmhouse and completely separate huge Tudor barn which can be used for large group, unusual self-catering, an occasional wedding celebration venue and a multitude of other things in the big barn space. And from 2017 a new bunkhouse, The Old Brooder Bunkhouse, will offer more simple self-catering accommodation.
The Hall is a listed and much-loved Georgianised 16th century hall farmhouse, situated down a quiet farm drive, but within a few miles of historic Lavenham and Long Melford. It is peacefully surrounded by our working farm with ancient wildflower meadows and beautiful barns, walled garden, hedged countryside and historic landscape.
Friends, families, school children, musicians, cyclists, walkers, wildlife enthusiasts or would-be re-enactors can get together in spacious, beautiful, ancient and unspoiled surroundings and amidst our sensitively farmed landscape. At Milden you can walk, run, hug trees, pond dip, read, lie about, write, draw, paint, sing, eat and be merry in 21st century style – and if you’d like to, dip one foot into the 16th century. We have full bookshelves, maps and local information; healthy, energetic and environmentally friendly things to do; and a family self-guided pack of 20 fun farm activities. Guests can use our 20+ bikes, play tennis, delve in the dressing up box, check out our ideas for indoor and outdoor activities at Milden and beyond.... or just enjoy the peace of the place. We have curriculum-linked programmes for schools.
We are hugely aware of our responsibilities to the environment and our green policy guides much of our approach to what we offer our guests – home grown food, bikes, woodburner heating and lots more!
